Disney - Day 1

We set out for sunny Orlando on Thursday, November 20th. It had just snowed in St. Louis so our trip could not have come at a better time. The kids were very excited to get out of town, go to Disney and most of all be with their Odom cousins (and Mimi, Paka, Aunt Amanda & Uncle David too of course:)!

We arrived safely and met Mimi & Paka at the lovely house we would be staying in with the rest of the fam. Early the next morning, my little family got up and headed to Magic Kingdom while we waited on the Odoms to arrive that evening! Truth: Scott wanted to get the kids up at 6:00 AM, which would have been 5:00 AM our time, but I put the kabash on that. Judging by the time the kids slept to that morning, it was the right call to get them some extra rest. Sometimes mothers just know about sleep. Ok, I really meant to say all the time mothers know about sleep. Fact.

The only activity Lila requested to do at Disney was to meet Elsa and Anna. We had heard the lines were very long - even up to 4 - 5 hours this summer. Since we were not able to get a FastPass, we knew we would have to wait. So we checked in on that first when we arrived at the park. It was 120 minutes. The kids and I hopped in line but quickly decided we didn't want to spend the first 2 hours of our park visit in line. So we decided to try again later and headed over to the Buzz Lightyear ride. It was a hit with Nate when we went in 2010, so we thought Lila might like it.

She wasn't so sure...
Scott & Nate heading out to shoot up some Zurg.
Lila wasn't a huge fan, so she put this on her "Not to do again" list.

Here are my boys from the last trip in front of Zurg...
After Buzz, we headed over to the Speedway. Nate was tall enough to go by himself, but he couldn't push the pedal like he would like, so he didn't do that again. Lila's little head didn't come over the steering wheel, but that didn't keep her from steering!
The classic Dumbo!
Nate was totally not into meeting any characters when we went last time, but Lila was all about it.
Daisy Duck
 Hugging Minnie Mouse
Doing a little curtsy with Minnie Mouse
Nate was still not super interested in meeting characters so after our visit there, the 2 of us headed back to Buzz while Scott & Lila rode the Astro Orbiter.
In his happy place!
Scott & Nate headed over to ride Splash Mountain (he loved it!) while Lila & I met Ariel.
Lila loved her so much. She did keep asking me why Ariel's costume had material on her belly though.
After a ride on Pirates of the Carribean, we hit up the Mickey ice cream stand.
Then we just happened to be in the right spot for the 3:00 parade. Lila loved it so much she was shaking. So we did get to see Elsa & Anna on the first day after all. Don't worry, this was not the only time Lila got to see them. Yes, I stood in the line. More about that later.
Another classic - Teacups!
And a compare from 2010:
I think our final ride of the day was the People Mover. Nate was all about the pictures this trip. Lila? Not so much.
I can't remember what Nate & Scott were doing - maybe Buzz again? But Lila & I headed to the front to wait on them to leave. She danced around in her fairy Minnie ears and was so happy.

Day 2 up next! The Odoms arrive and we hit up Epcot!
