Field Trippin

Last Friday, I went with Nate's class on a short field trip. It was their last Seed to Table class (fantastic program that we are so lucky to have that teaches kids about healthy eating and the fact that food doesn't just appear on your table) and they walked over to the middle school to see some fun things that those kids had been doing in Seed to Table. 

These pictures aren't the greatest because they are from my phone but this is Nate looking at the bee colony inside the school! The bees flock to the outside of the building and enter via a pipe into the box. So cool!

They also have an aquaponics lab that serves as a small fish farm...they actually serve the fish they harvest in the cafeteria! Again, so cool!

The coolest is that they actually filter the fish tanks and aquariums and use it to fertilize this tub garden! They even have a pineapple in there.

I do love our school district and am excited to experience the Elementary school next year!
