The kids had a very random day off last Friday. It seems like they have been out of school a lot lately when Scott is working. So when I saw it on the calendar I immediately decided that I wanted to plan something. I thought making a quick trip to Columbia sounded like fun. I called my mom and asked if she wanted to go with us. She was in!
We left in time to get there for lunch. Shakespeare's Pizza of course! I could not get everyone to look at me at the same time of course.
After filling up on pizza, we walked across the street to the Columns. There is just something about being back on campus. So fun reminiscing with my mom about both of our college years. The kids enjoyed reading about all of the University of Missouri history.
Some pictures I take end up like this...
but really very few. Most of them end up something like this. Nate looks like he's about to punch Lila. Sounds about right.
We walked over to Stewart Hall to take a picture for my Dad, since this is where he spent lots of his college time taking care of snakes. Love the photo bomber.
Nate really liked the look of Memorial Union. Probably reminded him of something Hogwart-ish.
After walking around campus for several hours, we went back to the hotel to rest and swim a bit. Then we cleaned up and went to meet the Bakers and my friend Jackie for dinner at Flat Branch! Fun!
These kids always pick up right where they left off and had such a good time with each other.
We headed back to St. Louis on Saturday and the kids were very exhausted. Just like I planned it:)
