Since starting my new schedule of working 3 days a week, I've tried hard to make the extra time count. It will be something different every week, but this week it meant taking Lila to the Zoo. Did you know that I have never taken Lila to the Zoo by herself?? This seems like a tragic wrong when thinking about how many times I took Nate to the Zoo by himself. But of course, things were different then with only one child.
So I decided to right that wrong and we had the best time. Touching the fake cobra. Barely.
Her favorite part of the hippo exhibit is this canoe, so she happily played in it while the other kids around us looked at the hippos.
She thinks they are kind of scary and I guess they kind of are up close.
I took a stroller, because, well, let's just say we abandoned the stroller too early with Lila and my back is paying the price. She enjoyed riding and then being able to hop out and explore.
We rode the carousel at the end and she did not want me to hold on to her at all. She kept pushing my hand away and really wanted me to get on my own animal so that I would just leave her alone already.
I'm so grateful for my more part-time schedule that I can enjoy moments like this, before she goes off to school. Boo!
