Pure Cuteness

Some days, you just need to chill out in your upside down arm chair, eating cheerios, drinking juice, all while your belly is hanging out.

Pure Cuteness.

Seeing Straight

Some days you just can't see straight due to...well...just plain life.

Today is one of those days.

Hot Pink

I love hot pink. Pretty much always have.
I prefer hot pink to pale pink. Guess that fits my personality.
I especially love hot pink on this little poser.
Hot pink. Don't knock it til you've tried it.

Recipe Monday

Doesn't this look scrumptious? I love the Skinny Taste website. Check it out if haven't before. Lots of fun recipes that are on the healthy side.

I plan on making Chicken Rollatini with Prosciutto and Cheese very soon!

Enjoy!

Snowflake Ball

Nate & I attended the MRH ECC Snowflake Ball this weekend.  There was dinner, dancing, cookie decorating, face painting and a plethora of hyper children.  Mine included. Nate sat down and ate with me and then was off to find his friends. He was very sweet and checked on me every now and then...especially when they drew for the raffle prizes. My child. The one that was dying to win the gift card to The Post. The local bar. Guess that says something about us:)

It won't be long before he is taller than me!

Sweet boy...all the little girls were so excited when  he arrived.
It won't be long before I'm not his date to the ball:( We had lots of fun but then he determined it was time to go, so the mom chaffeur happily took him home.

Ground Hog Day = Randomness

Sometimes I feel like I live in the movie Groundhog Day. How about you? And even though the ground hog saw his shadow, as long as the 6 more weeks can be like this week, I'm cool with it. And to commemorate the occasion, here's lots of randomness for you.

I should have included this in yesterday's post...but as someone that's always up for a helpful (and fun!) PSA...do you all do Living Social? Those emails that come every morning telling you what great deals you can get in your area?  Well, I do. And have gotten some great deals so far.  You just have to be careful weeding out what you really need versus what looks cool.  I had to mention this because today's deal in STL is for Tiger Lily! My most favorite shop in downtown Maplewood.  $15 for $30, definitely a deal. And with all the babies set to enter our family this summer, surely someone will need something monogrammed:)

And now that I've advertised everything under the sun this week...here's how we are doing. We're all sick. Well not Scott, because he's never sick, but the rest of us got some upper respiratory stuff that will not go away. I'm sure one of the kids is going to cough up a lung today. Or at 5:00 AM tomorrow morning. Yep, pretty sure that's when it's going to happen to Lila.

But other than that, we are doing so well. Nate is loving math at school and quickly zips through that part of his homework. I love that he loves math because I'm not sure I ever loved it. Maybe in an indirect sorta way. And his reading has really taken off, which makes us all so happy. The books they are sending home are getting better, thankfully. I was not so fond of the books about bread that showed older men from India smoking while frying flour in their pans. No joke. Of course it was Nate's favorite book because it had something taboo in it. Of course.

Lila is fabulous too.  After almost pulling my hair out this past weekend with her screaming when she couldn't get something, do something, or move past something, I taught her how to say "Help Please." And she totally got it.  It has cut down on the screaming somewhat. And it is ever so sweet when she says "elp peez". Until about the third time when you haven't helped her yet and it sounds like "elp PEEEEEEZZZZZ". Fun times.

If you are a Tiger fan, a Missouri Tiger that is, wear your GOLD on Saturday and cheer on the Tigers as we hopefully beat up on KU!!   I entered a contest to win tickets to the game on Saturday night. I didn't win, but I thought my answers were the best. The question was, "How do you know your are not a JayHawk?"

1. I don't wear jean shorts.
2. I can watch my alma mater's sports all year long, not just during basketball season
3. I don't have to squawk like a chicken to show school spirit.

Completely random post, more pictures to come this weekend.  Lots of fun activities planned.  Hope your Groundhog Day is lovely!

Lately Loves

I really am interested in what you all LOVE! I read a few blogs and I love when the author talks about what products are really helpful to them. I realize most of my loves are about what makes life easier with kids, but I also really like learning about new shops and tricks that other people are using these days. Hint Hint.

I get asked about Lila's shoes so much. When I was searching for her "shoes after the Robeez stage," I kept seeing the squeaker shoes. In fact, in this particular style (with this amount of support), it is hard to find shoes that don't squeak. Unless they are tennis shoes, which she has, but only wears to school. I'm funny like that.

Anyway, here are Mooshu Trainers which can be found at many shoe shops online or in boutique stores. They are the best and hold up so well.  Pretty soon I will need to take the squeakers out, but I'm enjoying them too much for now. My Dad hates them. Surprised? And he takes out the squeakers when she is at their house:)

This is a tool that I could not live without. Kitchen scissors. I use them for almost every meal with Lila, just as I did with Nate for years. My mom got them for me when Nate was a baby, stating after she visited us one time, "How do you live without kitchen scissors?" Um, really not sure at this point. They are a must have with table-food-eating kids. I have even given them with baby shower gifts. They are that important to me. Scissors make me happy. What can I say.

The owner of this shop did not ask me to write an endorsement and I'm not being compensated at all. But I wanted to write anyway, because of all the Facebook establishments that I peruse for cute kids' clothes, I think I love this one the best. I have ordered several times from her and have been so pleased with the product. Not to mention, the package arrives like the next day. I love smocked clothing and unique outfits for Lila - it's one of the most fun parts of having a girl! But I can't just go crazy on buying clothes for her - although I would like to! Smockaroos makes it easy and affordable (they have great clearance!), so check them out on Facebook, Smockaroos. Be prepared for the cuteness!

What do you love? Really, what do you love??
