I wish the lighting was better, but at least you can hear Nate singing really well. We have been hearing chorus after chorus of this song since the story teller came to Nate's school on Tuesday.

Weekend Edition
Ahhhh....warm weather. L-O-V-E it! We had a great weekend being outside. Picnics, parks, and of course the zoo made their way into our plans.
Nate's favorite park - Rocket Park.
Loves the "diggers"
Eating pudding outside on Saturday. He thinks that he is really getting away with something when I let him eat pudding for afternoon snack. He'll learn what sugar free, fat free mean someday. But thankfully no day soon.
Roasting marshmallows on Saturday night. I'm ready for the grass to turn green. That drab brown color is getting on my nerves.

"Nate-Bot"
Nate has been asking to make a robot suit out of a cardboard box for weeks. Scott finally remembered to bring home a big box on Saturday. While I ran errands, they concocted this robot suit - I have to say it was pretty impressive. He initially didn't want it to be costume, but then decided that would be fun. But it didn't have eye holes in it. Scott offered to cut some, but Nate said no. I think he liked bumping into things. Enjoy the video!
A Walk Outside
On Friday, Nate & I hung out with Jane Ellis and George. We walked, yes walked, to the Bread Company to eat lunch. The weather was gorgeous.
Nate loves George...this picture is kind of uncharacteristic of Nate. He doesn't let too many kids get in his face. But as you can see, he was loving it.
Enjoying the sunshine outside the Griggs house.

Key West
Okay, so I wasn't as good at taking pictures on our trip as I thought I was...and we totally forgot to get someone to take a picture of us. But oh well, at least Hemingway's house is well documented. Got that going for us...
You already saw the picture of the beautiful pool and here is another view that I loved. On our balcony, where it was really nice to sit in the morning sun.
Hemingway's House - he was only really there a short time, but Key West claims him.
Backyard and pool at Hemingway's...
So he is famous for these "extra toed" cats and they are EVERYWHERE. I was in heaven, hence almost my entire post is about these cats. Here you can see the extra toe.

Stories Worth Sharing
Funny stories worth sharing this week...
I was getting ready to put dinner on the table and I asked Nate to please sit down in his chair. He didn't respond but I could hear him still bouncing around near the table. So I asked again, in what must have been a more intense, firm voice. He responded with what was supposed to be under his breath, "Shoooo, you must be having a bad day." I couldn't get mad, I was laughing too hard. This is not something Scott & I say, so I'm assuming it is one of the phrases that his I'm-ever-so-thankful-they-come-to-work-everyday teachers say.
We were getting ready for school one morning and Nate found an empty canister of pretzels in the living room (where Scott had left it the night before - don't get me started.) All that was left was the wonderful, yummy salt. Scott says to Nate,"your mother loves that stuff." I hear some more murmurings, but go about my business. A few minutes later, Nate & I are brushing his teeth when he doubles over, looks at me with those "I'm gunna throw up" eyes and tells me his stomach hurts. I say, oh okay, whatever. I then proceed to hoist him up on our bed so we can put his clothes on. He grabs his stomach, looks at me, and pukes all over the bed. Fab. I ask him if he ate the salt. "Yes, mom." Scooooooottttttttt - did you let Nate eat the pretzel salt? Um...yes. Well, that probably wasn't a very good idea. Oh okay, he says, sorry.
And that my friends are just 2 of the stories from a day in the life of the Boyles.

Key West Teaser
Just something to tide you over until I can get a minute to download the rest of my pictures from our trip to Key West. No, this photo is not off our hotel's website. I took it from my lounge chair and Yes, it really was that perfect. It felt so good to be hot again after being so cold these last few months. More later!
