27 Random Things About Me

I guess my OCD is my theme of the week. I wrote these 27 random things to share on Facebook so I thought I would post here...happy weekend!

1. I have OCD.
2. I love to cut coupons.
3. I am obsessed with dusting. I probably dust 3 times a week - in fact I had to dust before sitting down to FB just now. Refer to #1.
4. I am all about even numbers - seriously, I will turn the volume on the TV up or down so that it is on an even level. Refer to #1.
5. I go to bed early. Sleep is a must have for me.
6. Sunny days make me very happy.
7. Although my family is a little odd at times, I love them dearly and couldn't imagine being born into another family (although I wished for it many times in junior high).
8. My mother and I talk on the phone once a day on average - many more times if one of us is sick, hurt, or sad.
9. I'm not sure Scott knew what he was signing up for when he married me, but thankfully he goes with the flow. Refer to #1.
10. Clutter makes me crazy.
11. Saturday morning is my favorite part of the week and Sunday night is my least favorite.
12. Sometimes I think Scott and I parent like we are playing a football game - we play a lot of offense and defense. Lots of huddles, lots of game plans.
13. I have a chicken pox scar in the middle of my forehead. The boys in my high school class used to call it a bullseye.
14. I stomp my feet when I get mad...to this day.
15. My sister and I are more alike than I thought we were growing up. I like it.
16. I love the Missouri Tigers - they make it very difficult, but I'm still a fan.
17. Being back in Missouri is still weird for me, even though it has been a year and a half.
18. I miss living in Nashville.
19. My favorite restuarant is the Puffy Muffin...in Nashville.
20. I hope that Nate grows up to be loving, well-rounded, and a positive thinker.
21. I am way more laid back about certain things than I thought I would be as a mother.
22. In the winter, I wear socks 99% of the time.
23. Scott thinks I have Raynaud's disease - I am cold 99% of the time in the winter.
24. Buying an elliptical was the best money we've spent in recent history.
25. My cat only likes 2 people in this world - me & Scott.
26. Even though I have a baby boy of my own, my little brother Hamil will always be "the" baby boy.
27. I've had bathrooms bigger than my current kitchen. Gotta love 90 year old houses.

I Admit It - I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Why oh why does it have to snow??? My OCD does not handle snow very well - hence the fact that when Nate & Scott get home this afternoon, the entire floor of my house will be covered in old towels so that slush is not tracked everywhere.

I guess it is pretty, but I could do without the messy clothes, messy car and messy house. Yes, my OCD really kicks in on days like this.

And as if the snow wasn't enough, Scott decided last night at 7:00 PM to ask Nate if he wanted to go outside and make snow angels. I about fainted right there on the spot. After I threw a small fit (okay, you all know me - it wasn't really that small) about the laundry I was going to have to do tonight to get Nate's coat clean and dry for school today, the mess they were going to track in from outside, and the frostbitten fingers and toes that would not feel good in the bathtub - I helped Nate get his gloves and shoes on. He did have fun, and I guess that is all that matters.

Happy Snow Day!

Kansas City Plus

Long & tough week, which is why I'm just now getting to last weekend's post. We went to Kansas City for the weekend to meet our friends, the Pooleys. While there, we discovered a great spot for kids - Kaleidoscope - owned by Hallmark. They have all the leftover material from making greeting cards - available to kids to make crafts, etc...It is a great place and it is FREE! Nate & Quinn had a great time collecting art supplies.

Nate making a puzzle - the puzzle machine was very cool.

Audra & Quinn making crafts - Audra really is the crafty one...I'm a little out of my element in places like this!

Scott & Nate checking out the pins & needles display.

I think this is the only picture I got of Nate & Quinn together all weekend. It is tough to get them to both look at the camera and smile these days!

Plus...I love this picture of Nate concentrating on play doh yesterday. Reminds me so much of me with his tongue sticking out!
Warm weather is right around the corner - or at least we are closer to it than we were in November!

Normal

I just don't think it is normal for it to be 1 degree outside with a -15 wind chill.

Things you will let your child do when it is cold outside...

Like play in the sink with bath toys, complete with bubble bath and fizzy tablets. I came up with this on the fly because I could not bear to go outside. Nate thought I was a genius.

I Love You While Eating

I hope this video doesn't offend anyone, but it was too cute not to share. Yes, grandparents, we do teach him not to talk while eating. This was an exception!

Pizza with Peach Girls

The Peach family joined us for dinner on Saturday night. The kids made their very own pizzas...we could have probably fed them all from one pizza, but that was beside the point! Nate enjoyed entertaining the girls and was sad for them to leave!
