Y'all. The plumber is upstairs hooking up the sink AS.I.TYPE. Thank you and AMEN.
On Friday, the lovely counter top installers came and completed our beautiful new counter tops and island. I believe I would think pretty much any counter top was beautiful given that I've been staring at nothing or plywood for almost 2 months. But I still like what we picked out and that deserves an AMEN too. Lots of pictures and commentary when it's all the way done!
On Saturday, it was cool in the morning, but was supposed to warm up in the afternoon, so after we hit up the pancake breakfast at Nate's school, we went to the movie. I had heard Paddington Bear was cute and I thought both kids would like it. They are at the age again where it's sometimes hard to bridge the gap between their interests.
We went to a theater near our house that has been renovated in the last year. Every seat reclines and the kids thought it was awesome. I thought it was pretty awesome too.
Nate sat by himself in a chair and Lila and I lounged on the love seat next to him. She doesn't look super excited here but she loved the seats too. Her ears are sensitive and although she likes the idea of a movie, it's not really her favorite thing. On Saturday night, we went out to dinner with Amy & Jason - it is one of all of our goals to see each other more often (since they only live around the corner) and so far we've succeeded!
You can see a sneak peek of the counter here, but what I really want to say is these outlets that let you plug the USB straight into the wall to charge your phone are the BOMB. We have one in the kitchen and on the island and I am in love. Doesn't take much.
No, this is probably not going to be the final wall color.
Yes, it's what I picked out.
No, I don't like it now.
Yes, Scott is going to shoot me over the wall color.
On Sunday, it was rainy, so we hung out around the house and then went to the pool for swim practice. Lila & I swam some and I tried not to freeze to death. I had to muster up all my Mom courage to put on a swim suit and get in the pool yesterday. Indoor or not, it was not a day for swimming!
Lila all of the sudden has decided to give up her afternoon nap. She's not super rebellious about it, she just doesn't go to sleep at rest time. I leave her in there and she stays for an hour or more without incident. I know she's 4 and it's probably nearing time (although Nate took a nap until the day he went to kindergarten), but the problem is she just can't quite make it to bedtime yet on the days she doesn't take a nap (especially if she hasn't taken a nap in several days). As evident in the picture below taken at 5:30 PM last night.
Waking her up for dinner was about as much fun as you can imagine!
Happy last week of January!
