Wordless Wednesday
Okay, almost wordless...the dude is so my kid. We got home from school on Monday and he said, "Mom, my legs hurt from walking today. Can I use your heating pad?" Guess I use the heating pad a little too much.

Nate's Opinion About Lotion
Nate does not like putting lotion on after bath. But since winter seems neverending, along with the dry skin that goes with it, lotion is a necessity. The other night I told him before bath that we had to put lotion on when he got out. When I went to get the lotion, here is what I found.
Did I mention that he is really into asking how to spell a word, writing it down on a post-it, and sticking it to the object. He didn't have to ask how to spell this one. And yes, Ms. Penny, this is one of the lovely post-it notes you gave him...
Scoring A Deal
I like to think that I am a bargain shopper. I do seem to find some good bargains from time to time and I LOVE to cut coupons...it has been a life long passion of mine, at least since I could use scissors. But my love for bargains has never included asking for discounts, and I am a no-haggle buyer, which is why I like Car-Max so much...another story for a different day.
Anyway, a few weeks ago Nate and I were in World Market. They were having a furniture sale and I had been keeping my eye out for a new coffee table. Our old one had just seen better days and it was to the point that I couldn't even make it look a lot better with polish. Now for those of you that have seen our old coffee table, it has a one of a kind feature. The top lifted up so that you could sit on the couch and pull it up to you to eat, study, whatever. And that was really cool, 9 years ago. Scott loved it and honestly hated to part with it. But the truth is, we haven't used it very much since Nate was born because we now eat at the dining room table instead.
Long long story short, I mean long...I wanted to buy this table a few weeks ago but they were out of stock. So I went back this weekend to check and see if they got more in. The nice man at World Market told me that it was discontinued and that the floor model was the only one they had left. He said I could buy it. Initially, I turned away. I mean, I wasn't going to spend money on a floor model that had a few scratches in it. But then I said, "Well how much is the floor model." He said he'd have to check. He came back and said, "I can let you have it for $62.49." (original price $249.99)
Oh well, in that case, let me call my husband (who happened to be at PetSmart next door) and see if he can fix the scratches. Truly, Scott can fix anything.
We got the table and Scott didn't disappoint. Now you might say it looks alot like our old table, and you would be right. Scott couldn't part with the old end tables just yet so the new table had to match. But maybe if I could get a discount...mmmmm....I'll have to think on that one.

Disney's Rockin Road Show
Bike Ride & Park
Nate & I were trying to will the sun to shine, so on Saturday morning, when it broke 40 degrees, we suited up and headed for the park. Nate hasn't gotten to ride his bike much since Christmas, so it was a treat. We had a great time at the park and our plan worked - 56 and sunny on Saturday. I didn't think it was possible after the last few weeks. Spring, oh spring, come quickly, please. A few pictures of our adventure...

Mimi & Paka's Visit
I've been slacking on the picture taking and blogging lately. Maybe it's the weather. I'm blaming just about everything on the weather right now. I'm ready for some consistent sunshine around these parts.
Mimi & Paka came to visit last weekend. Of course, it snowed. So we didn't get to do many outside activities. Mimi spent much of her time doing just this. Reading a dinosaur book to Nate. She loved saying all the really hard dinosaur names, and this book is full of them. I think Nate picked up on it...

New Floor!
Nate and I drove all the way to Chesterfield on Friday to go to Chick-fil-A. Forgot my camera. I drove all the way to Memphis with my mom and aunts on Saturday to see Jersey Boys. Forgot my camera. So all I've got is pictures of the finished floor.

Scott did a fantastic job on the shoe molding. This is the kind of molding that we had in our bedroom before and I made a small obscure comment that I liked it (the rest of the house was different). Well it is actually not one piece of molding but TWO. That means TWO pieces to paint, TWO pieces to nail, TWO pieces to re-paint. And he put it all over the house. Wow, I guess my voice really carries :)

"After" Preview
So the floor is down. Shoe molding will come this week. It is gorgeous. 90-year old floor squeaks are muffled. Heavenly.
Scott. is. a. miracle. worker. Truly.
A few preview pictures. The furniture was put back together after I took these, but I am saving the true AFTER pictures until the shoe molding is down and everything is back in its place. I only did enough moving / replacing last night to satisfy my obsessive compulsive disorder. You see I can only deal with a certain amount of chaos in order to be able to sleep...sadly that amount is very low, and getting lower each year. Which is why Nate & I spent Saturday night at the Spring Hill Suites down the road. :)
