Trip to Mimi & Paka's

Scott, Nate, and I flew to Atlanta for a few days this past weekend. We all survived the plane trip...Nate is fine and Scott and I are still married! Nothing like a plane trip with a 2-year old to celebrate our 7-year anniversary!

If you also read my sister-in-law Amanda's blog, some of this will be repeat. She beat me to it!

Nate loved playing with his 10-month old cousin, Noah. He doesn't quite understand why Noah doesn't walk yet, but I have a feeling he won't be wondering for long - Noah wants to walk so bad!

We visited with lots of friends and family over the weekend and top it off, we visited the Atlanta Zoo to see the pandas yesterday. Nate was very impressed and thought everything at the zoo belonged to his beloved Mimi.

My favorite quote from the weekend was spoken when we were at the zoo walking up the path to see the birds. Nate shouted, "Hey Mims, you got an owl?" Lo and behold, we walked a few more feet and Mims (short for Mimi) produced an owl. Talk about impressive!

Dogwood-Azalea Festival

We headed to Charleston this weekend for the 40th annual Dogwood-Azalea Festival. I have such wonderful memories of this weekend from my childhood and am so glad that Nate can take part in the next generation of festivities. The Charleston community really does make this weekend extra special by decorating their houses and lining the streets for the parade. Even though I don't think I could live the "country life" again, I am very proud that my roots are in this small town.

The Art of Counting

This story is what inspired me to finally start blogging. I thought to myself that too many funny things happen to me on a daily basis - why not share!

I picked Nate up from school last week and as we were pulling out of the parking lot, he said, "Mom, you have one, two, bird poops on your window." I said, "Nate, you are correct and I'm so proud of you for counting!"

Maybe we should lay off the counting lesson for a while...no telling what he will be counting next!

Joining the Crowd

I have said for a long time that I need to blog - many of my friends blog and I so enjoy reading them - so I finally decided to join the crowd!
